maturity

So being a sophomore in college, I should be acting like a real responsible adult by now, right? Wrong. In fact, dead wrong.
We had a little roommate bonding Saturday night and wreaked havoc throughout Rexburg.
We are adults.

I wish I could write funny things

I love reading blogs. especially when whoever is writing can make me laugh out loud in the middle of my math class from reading it. It's a real talent. Don't get me wrong, I think I'm funny- probably because I always laugh at my own jokes.
I digress, this is one of many parts of my "catch up" posts.
DANIEL GOT HOME!

after being gone for two whole years, my big brother Daniel came home from his mission the week of my birthday. What a present! He was really only home for 5 days, but luckily I get to see him while we're at school since he's only 4 hours away from me! It's so great to have him home!
MY BIRTHDAY!!!
well I'm finally 19! which means- well actually it really doesn't mean anything. I'm still a teenager, I've been legal for a year, I can buy lotto tickets- but wait i could do that last year- I could serve a mission, if i weren't a girl... basically 19 is a super lame age but it didn't stop me from celebrating my mediocre age!!
I went out on uncle Frankie's boat with Kelly, John, Daniel, Taylor, Becca and Aunt Nancy. I LOVE annapolis and the water and boats and basically everything about it. Afterwords we went back to Frankie and Nancy's house for steak burgers (yeah tell me about it. i was elated.) and presents!! it was such a blast!

Wild wild west

Well i'm back in Idaho and so far i'm LOVING it!! I had so much fun with my iteam and Brooke and I moved into our new apartment (next door from last semester- so far I know.) and we got thi big room!! it's wonderful. Pictures will come soon :) -whenever it's clean again. it's a true challenge for me, I'm telling you.
I've got a whole new set of roomies, too! (except for Brookie. it would be tragic if she were to leave me, which is why i'm forbidding her to transfer to Utah. What am I supposed to do? make new friends?? I don't think so.)
So I feel like I really have to play catch-up since I haven't really posted in forever and a day- not that anyone actually reads this too often, except for maybe John who is bored at work. In which case if you're reading this, go file papers or something! You aren't getting paid to read blogs all day!
But the catch up posts will come soon as well. Right now I just wanted to post some pictures up of my Iteam and my roomies!! Gosh I love Idaho...

Playing ultimate with my iTeam

...my team lost. Go figure.

After the death hike up to R mountain!

Our first Roommate dinner! SUPER good chicken parmesean

wow. I must say I have been a TERRIBLE blogger. It's a good thing no one really reads this except me, when I have nothing better to do with my time.
I guess i've been too busy with Cathey Carver's Boot Camp (patents pending). It's been a slow death. I feel like my life is getting shorter each time I take the walk of death into a new class each day. I never used to sweat, either. BOY WAS I WRONG. Well, aside from my unnecessary comments and such i'll try to keep this post on the short side and stick with a nice list of things i've done/learned since I've been home.

  • blackberries make EVERYTHING taste better.
  • i don't like scallions. at all.
  • my dad won't let me get married till i'm 30. Can't say I didn't see that one coming
  • Shayne is taller than me, making me the shortest Carver child. awesome.
  • I started compiling some of my Mom's yummy recipes into a composition book to bring to school
  • After referring to Idaho as home once or twice, I realized that I need to get out more.
  • new phone plans suck. I want a cool phone and I DO NOT want to pay and extra $20 a month for internet when I don't use it.
  • babysitting for eleven children at once changes you.
  • i'm a wedding/baking/real housewives show addict.
  • I really need a hobby other than eating/cooking
  • Reread Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone with Shayne. Even better than I remembered
  • I'm sending my future children Hogwarts acceptance letters on their 11th birthdays
  • I bought the cutest cake stand at a thrift store and made my dad this sweet cake for his birthday
  • Daniel is home in 4 DAYS!!!
  • IT'S SO HOT
well that's all I can think of for now. sorry about the lack of creativity and cute pictures. I'll make up for it later, I promise

Days Away...

Exams are starting and spring semester is coming to an end. I must say this has been such a fun 3 months!! I've had so much fun and I've actually come to love Idaho. Ok, I don't want to live here in the future or anything, I love the east coast far too much to do that. What I'm saying is that it really is beautiful. Spring term is about 200 times better than the fall, and about 50 times warmer to boot.
I love laying out with my roommates and basically getting fried in the sun. It would be nice to have a beach around here, but I'll settle with rivers and lakes.Anyways, I should be studying for my exams and such, but my will power just isn't strong enough. I'd rather be blogging anyways.
Only 6 days till I'm back in Maryland!!! Can't wait!

The Craziest Thing I've Ever Done

This weekend was such a blast!
Ok, Friday not so much, but that's a whole other story. Let's just say that it wasn't my best day ever...Saturday started off by rising early and throwing on a swimsuit and some shorts and heading out for our stake activity of going floating along some river that's an hour away. The water was actually FREEZING COLD but once you got numb, it was so worth it. It was like a 2-hour long lazy river! (basically my dream...) within the first 20 minutes, though, both Whitney's and Ben's tubes popped! It was so funny, until I hit a very small rapid and fell off of my tube. It took me about 5 minutes to wiggle back onto it while almost loosing my sunglasses three times and with Brooke's gracious assistance! The sun finally came out in time for lunch, just in time for everyone there to get a crispy sunburn. I evened out the gross one on my back with a beautiful one on my chest, legs, and half of my face. My faith in sunscreen has diminished.
On the ride home, we stopped at this little hole-in-the-wall bait shop and got this DELICIOUS ice cream!!
After an hour long drive home, we went straight to Pita Pit to see some of our friends participate in a pita-eating contest! About 5 minutes before it started, no girls had entered, so my friend Sam and I decided to sign up, eat our favorite pitas and split the prize. We were super excited for this, until 2 other girls decided to enter about a minute before the girl's competition began. At that point, I wasn't about to lose after forking over 10 bucks to compete. So, I had to put my big girl pants on and channel my dad's competitive nature and stomach down as many pitas as possible.
For not being hungry to start with, I manage to pack down a good amount of food. There was really only one girl who was real competition, and in the last MINUTE of the competition, I managed to scarf down 1/4 of my third pita! My body barely held it in, but I held it in until the time was up... at which point the pita was no longer in my stomach. The rest of the day my diet consisted of tums and water. But I still won!! It wasn't exactly my proudest moment, but it makes me unique, right?
